Thanks to Colm for the link…trailer plays for 2mins 30sec.
I went to see Quantum Of Solace on Wednesday night. Besides having a bad name, the movie was actually quite…disappointing. Post-view, I decided to wait a little bit before coming to a decision about the it, hence the late post.
As you would expect, there was the usual pacey action – start to finish – as well as some dodgy CGI (the plane scene), but what was most disappointing for me, was the emphasis placed upon action, rather than plot. That’s where the last movie was excellent…being the first chapter in the book of Bond, it purposefully developed his character, unveiling the reasons why he is what he is. Additionally, in the former, he was also presented in a more raw state and COULD get beaten up and injured, which I liked because it felt more real. The end of this movie was also a bit disappointing, and as the last line was delivered, I felt a bit flat. Cousin Alex turned to me and said, “is it me, or did that feel like the second part in a trilogy?”. I tend to agree.
6/10.
