Skelly baby #2 @ 20 weeks

posted by Leo

Last Thursday afternoon, we headed over to Ormskirk Hospital for our 20 week scan…and what an amazing sight! A perfect little baby, clear as crystal on the monitor. Can’t wait for the little one to be born (must start decorating the spare bedroom…).

Thumbs down

posted by Leo

…and that’s where I should have kept ‘em. I decided to take advantage of the good weather yesterday, and to do some gardening in the afternoon. Post mow, I started doing the edges with the shears, and in a silly accident, I managed to slice through the top of my right thumb…ouch! Just got a plaster on it now, but I can’t grip anything with any conviction and it stings like hell. Wish I didn’t have thumbs.

4 nations in 1 day!

posted by Leo

Yes folks, in keeping with the spirit of The Odyssey Expedition, I’ll be actively participating on Tuesday 21st April. Four nations in one day is the goal, and there are some stupidly tight timetables to keep otherwise all will be lost, i.e. we’re off the Holyhead-Dun Laoghaire ferry at 12:24pm and on to the DART to Connolly Station at 12:38pm! Can it be done? We’ll find out…but I’ve sent an e-mail to Stenaline asking if we can be let off the ship before anyone else – it’s the squeaky bits that get the oil, so if you don’t ask, you don’t get!

It’s an open invitation, and we’re meeting at 6am SHARP on Tuesday. Some are travelling a little of the way…others are meeting mid-way, and the rest will meet in Manchester at 01:25am on Weds morning. Me? I’ve just made a snap decision to travel three-quarters of the way to Belfast & will fly back to Liverpool from there – the airport is 5 mins from the ferry terminal, so I’ll be waving the Belfast-Stranraer ferry goodbye, and walking down the road to George Best airport. Who?!

Easter Eggs galore!

posted by Leo

It’s Easter Sunday and a certain little boy was awake early this morning & downstairs hunting for easter eggs! The easter bunny had hidden them all around the living & dining rooms, and little Seán found all three! Seán’s cousin James will be calling to the house in a couple of hours, and no doubt, they’ll each be comparing eggs!

Full of Easter chocolate Seán gets his Easter treats!

Aintree Grand National 2009

posted by Leo

Well, the race is nearly upon us and I’ve got my money on a few horses.

My favourites are Rambling Minster & Cornish Sett.  As an outsider (50p e/w), I’ve got Arteea @ 200/1 (yeah…I know what y’er thinkin’). In work, I chose ‘My Will’ in the sweepstake.

Wish me luck…and if you’re in either one of my sweepstakes, best of luck to you too.

Holiday in Barbados

posted by Leo

The Skellys have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Barbados. It was everything you might imagine it was…blue skies, clear blue water, white sand, palm trees & lovely evenings out. It wasn’t without its celebrities too…I met Jamie Rednapp in the local supermarket (yeah!).

What can I say…Seán was BRILLIANT on both flights…9hrs over, and not a peep out of him – that’s the beauty of new toys and a miniature video player!; 8hrs on the overnight return flight, and he slept most of the way. Little gem…let’s hope that Skelly baby number 2 is just as perfect :-)

There were some quite funny and some great moments along the way too: I accidently kicked a turtle thinking it was a rock!; trying to avoid a bloke that was pushing me to hire his car, Seán decided it was just the right moment to jump on the car horn…twice!; we were INCREDIBLY lucky to see a group of sea turtles emerge from their nest, and scamper into the sea for the very first time – lasted all of 7 or 8 mins; we hired a car that had less power than Yvonne’s hairdryer, and it climbed hills at a rate of about 15mph (ugh!);

Here are some shots from the holiday: pic 01, pic 02, pic 03, pic 04, pic 05, pic 06, pic 07, pic 08, pic 09, pic 10, pic 11, pic 12, pic 13, pic 14, pic 15, pic 16, pic 17, pic 18, pic 19, pic 20, pic 21, pic 22, pic 23, pic 24.

Skelly baby #2!!!!!!!

posted by Leo

Yes, it’s official…the Liverpool Skellys are having their second baby!

Yvonne & I are absolutely delighted, and the little one – boy or girl – is due around the 9th September. Little Seán will be 3yrs & 2mths at that stage, so that’s a really nice age gap between the two.  Can’t wait…
